Dispute Resolution, Chambers & Partners - Department: Band 2
“The team demonstrates strong depth and breadth, with solid expertise and the capacity to address complex disputes effectively.”
Family and inheritance matters concern some of the most important personal and financial decisions individuals may face. They may determine the organisation of family life, the protection of children, obligations between family members, and the transfer and distribution of assets. When a dispute arises, its consequences are often legal, financial and human, requiring an appropriate framework to protect the rights of all parties and, where possible, prevent the conflict from escalating.
Our Family Law and Inheritance Litigation team assists clients at every stage, from seeking an amicable solution and negotiating an agreement to representing them before the Luxembourg courts. We act in divorce and separation proceedings, matters relating to parental responsibility, child residence and maintenance payments, as well as the administration of estates, the division of assets, will disputes and disputes between heirs. Where required, we also coordinate our work with notaries, experts, wealth advisers and other relevant professionals.
Our team combines a thorough understanding of the Luxembourg legal framework with careful consideration of the financial and human dimensions of each matter. It explains the rights and options available, protects its clients’ interests and tailors the strategy to the sensitive nature of the situation, whether a negotiated solution remains possible or court proceedings become necessary.
