Employment, Chambers & Partners - Department: Band 3
“Brucher Thieltgen & Partners provides responsiveness and availability. It has knowledge of the subject matter and communicates closely with the client.”
Employment and social law shape the organisation of businesses and determine the conditions under which employees are recruited, supported and, where applicable, leave the company. In Luxembourg, where employers operate in an international and multilingual environment characterised by significant workforce mobility, a thorough understanding of these rules is essential to reconcile compliance, business continuity and effective social dialogue. Our Employment & Social Law team advises companies established in Luxembourg, as well as foreign groups seeking to establish a presence there, particularly in the banking and financial services, private equity, wealth management, insurance and industrial sectors, as well as non-profit associations and foundations.
We advise employers on the individual and collective employment issues they encounter in their day-to-day operations, including dismissals, the negotiation of employee departures, redeployment, sick leave, fixed-term employment contracts and the assessment of employment-related risks. We also draft and review employment contracts and assist with the development of internal policies relating to remote working, harassment, whistleblowing, remuneration and working-time arrangements.
Our team closely monitors Luxembourg and European legislative and case law developments in order to adapt our clients’ internal practices. It also assists them in anticipating the employment and social consequences of reorganisations, new establishments and corporate transactions, in coordination with the Firm’s other teams.
